Dec 9, 2007 10:45 AM Ingredients Makes 10 2 cups all-purpose flour 1/4 cup granulated sugar 1 teaspoon baking powder 1 teaspoon baking soda 3/4 teaspoon salt 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon 1 teaspoon ground ginger 1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves 4 large eggs 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted and cooled 1 cup whole milk 1/2 cup sour cream, plus more for serving 3 tablespoons unsulfured molasses Lingonberry preserves (or other berry preserves), for serving Directions Whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and spices in a large bowl. Whisk together eggs, butter, milk, sour cream, and molasses in a medium bowl. Add egg mixture to flour mixture, and whisk until smooth. Heat a waffle iron. Spoon 1/3 cup batter into each mold, and cook until golden brown. Serve warm waffles with sour cream and preserves.
ALSW Ribbon Christmas Card Holder Nov 27, 2007 8:31 AM I don't know about you all, but my anal-retentive organized self has already mailed out the majority of her Christmas and holiday cards and now I'm just waiting for them to pour in. Until Thanksgiving, I had nothing to put them in (my grandfather made me a card holding sleigh), so I was seriously considering making one of these Ribbon Card Holders. They look adorable and I can think of a dozen places that I could hang it from off the top of my head. So if you're struggling to find a place to put all those cards, this might be the perfect idea! Heres how you can achieve this look in your home! Tools and Materials Medium-weight cardboard stock Approximately 40 dried magnolia leaves for each section of the garland 22-gauge floral wire Small paintbrush Water-based glue Gold mica Gilding brush Satin ribbon Magnolia Garland How-To 1. To create the cardboard base for the leaves, photocopy the template below, increasing the size by 200 percent. Cut out each piece along dotted line and enlarge by 200 percent; repeat. 2. For each garland section, trace the shapes on cardboard stock. Cut out pieces, and punch a small hole at either end with a nail.
